Southern Glazer’s Promotes Mark Chaplin to Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales

On Friday, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits (Southern Glazer’s) announced that it has promoted Mark Chaplin to the role of Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales, effective March 15, 2024.

Chaplin, who will report to John Wittig, Chief Commercial Officer, will work closely with Regional and State General Managers, as well as cross-functional leads in all regions, to drive change management in the field to meet Southern Glazer’s long-term vision. Chaplin will continue to help the supplier community prosper and will collaborate closely with them in his new role, the company states.

“With each role of increased responsibility at Southern Glazer’s, Mark has proven that he’s a best-in-class leader who drives positive change through his collaborative approach and rich industry expertise,” said Wittig in a news release. “I know that with Mark’s leadership, our Southern Glazer’s team will continue to provide tremendous results for our supplier and customer partners.”

Chaplin began his career at Southern Glazer’s as part of the East Region Commercial Strategy team before he was promoted to Director of Sales & Commercial Operations for the East Region, according to the company. In his most recent role as Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Chaplin reported to Gene Sullivan, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, to support sales execution excellence, collaborate with strategic supplier and customer partners to drive growth, and lead the Company’s corporate supplier management team. Chaplin’s experience prior to Southern Glazer’s includes positions with Gallo Sales Company, Merrill Lynch, Grant Thornton, and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Chaplin earned his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Miami in 2017.
