Ghost Tequila, a spicy spirits producer, just launched Ghost Reposado. This premium aged 100% Blue Agave Reposado tequila is enhanced with a pinch of ghost pepper, the brand states.
“With the growing demand in the spicy category, we witnessed incredibly strong growth in Ghost Tequila’s Blanco sales last year,” explained Chris Peddy, CMO of Ghost Tequila, in a news release. “We are now thrilled to introduce a new expression, Ghost Reposado, to evolve our brand to a new premium consumer segment. The launch marks a significant milestone in our journey and the spicy category.”
Ghost tequila begins with a blend of 6-year-old mature agaves sourced from both the Highlands and Lowlands. The agaves are then slow-cooked in brick ovens for two days and crushed to extract the juice, the brand states. Rested for 2-4 months in American White Oak Pipones with a signature toast to create the Reposado, the liquid is then infused with a pinch of Ghost Peppers. The result is a balance of spice and sweetness.
Ghost Reposado is available nationally, with a limited production of 6,000 9-liter cases, according to the brand. Each case contains 6 bottles and the tequila is packaged in 750-ml. recyclable glass bottles. The SRP is $39.99, with an ABV of 40%. Ghost is nationally distributed by RNDC.
