Zero proof beverages have been all the rage lately, gaining the interest of health conscious consumers on the hunt for better-for-you drinks. Hopping on this trend bandwagon is Winesellers, Ltd. with its release of Mas Fi Zero, an innovative non-alcoholic sparkling wine.
Not only does Mas Fi Zero contain 0% alcohol, but it is also vegan-friendly, sustainably produced and contains only 29 calories and 1.5 carbs per 5 ounce serving. The new entry is produced in the Penedes region of Spain and is initially fermented from classic Spainish Cava varietlas Xarel-lo, Macabeo and Parellada prior to being dealcoholized. It is aromatic and fresh with notes of tropical fruits, ripe green apples and a touch of citrus.
Shifting with the Non-alcoholic Consumer Demand
Founded in 1977 by Yale Sager, Winesellers, Ltd. is a second generation, family-owned and globally recognized importer, and marketer of fine wines to the U.S. market. Their portfolio represents some of the finest quality in their respective price categories, with widespread distribution throughout all 50 states.
Jordan Sager, Co-President of Winesellers, Ltd. commented in a news release, “The non-alcoholic wine category has grown tremendously as of late, and we have been working diligently with our suppliers to meet this shifting consumer demand. Quality and value are paramount in our efforts to develop new products for the U.S. market, but we have found that due to the production challenges, much of this category has us underwhelmed. We feel like we have bucked that trend with Mas Fi Zero and produced a winner that will exceed consumer expectations and desire for quality.”
Produced by Castel d’Or in partnership with Cofama Vins i Caves, the Mas Fi range consists of Brut Cava (NSRP $12/750ml, $6/187ml), Brut Rose Cava (NSRP $13) and now Mas Fi Zero Sparkling will have a national suggested retail of $13 in 750ml bottle format.
