Overview:

This position is responsible for influencing the activities related to the pricing and discounting of our products. The scope of responsibilities include: developing guardrails and governing policy on pricing and support usage, developing corporate KPIs and scorecards to review performance against these metrics, and provide training to build organizational capabilities around pricing fundamentals, profit management and pricing analytics. This role will contribute to thought leadership in revenue management and drive pricing and trade spend effectiveness.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Aligning and building organizational capabilities (people, processes, systems, and incentives) designed to achieve long-term objectives/strategy to optimize revenue and profitability
  • Design and implement processes and governance to provide transparency to and drive accountability of our pricing practices
  • Active participant in development of tools to improve capabilities of price planning and measuring the effectiveness of our spend
  • Analyze external price, promo and trade trends (customer, consumer and competitor) and internal financials (e.g., pricing, trade spend) to make recommendations that will profitably drive growth across price, trade, promotions and assortment
  • Evaluate list price structure and implement changes to reduce profit leakage and simplify administration
  • Ability to influence and drive change management with senior leaders

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or quantitative field
  • 15+ years of experience with an emphasis on commercial experience, pricing, and financial analysis
  • CPG industry experience; supplier and wholesaler experience a plus

  • Strong technical and analytic skills with demonstrated ease in accessing and analyzing multiple data sources, e.g. syndicated data (Nielsen / IRI), sales history, and financial data
  • Excellent communication skills – ability to express ideas clearly, concisely and effectively; listens to and responds appropriately to others; presents ideas and recommendations in ways that influence the beliefs and decisions of others and inspires them to action
  • Must be a strategic thinker with confidence and speed in execution
  • An acute sense needs of business acumen
  • Ability to travel overnight, approximately 50%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in business related field
  • Demonstrated strategic capability and proven experience in data analysis with solid understanding of financial impact of pricing strategies/tactics
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and organizational levels to achieve desired goals
  • Expert knowledge of trade promotion effectiveness and efficiency; strong candidate will have both consumer pricing and trade analytics expertise

  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 15lbs
