Wholesaler: Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits
Location: Dallas, Texas
- Provide strategic advice to business leaders and HR professionals regarding the National Labor Relations Act and collective bargaining agreement requirements
- Represent the Company in collective bargaining negotiations for the Company’s 25+ active CBAs, along with VP – Labor & Employment Counsel
- Develop and maintain relationships with union leaders representing the Company’s organized employees
- Advise business leaders regarding union campaigns and union avoidance
- Advise business leaders regarding grievances and matters concerning labor relations
- Manage outside counsel in labor arbitrations
- Represent the Company in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, including unfair labor practice charges
- Provide strategic advice to business leaders and HR professionals regarding matters involving anti-discrimination and leave laws (i.e. Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, and state law equivalents)
- Respond to charges before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
- Travel required
- Excellent academic credentials, including a J.D. from a top-tier law school
- Licensed to practice law
- 6-8 years of legal practice experience with a law firm and/or in house legal department, including experience in traditional labor matters and collective bargaining negotiations
- Excellent communication skills, including writing and speaking English fluently
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients and outside counsel and gain their respect
- Excellent organizational skills in order to effectively handle multiple matters at the same time
- Strong cognitive and analytical skills
