FINVARA The King’s Gambit has made its debut in the U.S. This Irish Whiskey is crafted by Irish master distiller, David F. Hynes at a distillery located in Ireland’s historic Fort of Dealgan by the Castle Town River.
Following the launch of Conte Camillo Negroni, a ready-to-serve cocktail, FINVARA The King’s Gambit Irish Whiskey is the second U.S. brand introduction from Mack Brands.
Through a blend of grain, malted and un-malted barley, FINVARA The King’s Gambit is triple distilled in copper pots, according to the distillery, then finished and aged for several years in carefully selected bourbon and Sherry barrels. On the nose, aromas of caramel, spice and oak lead to a full-bodied palate.
“We wanted to create a premium Irish Whiskey that captures the spirit of Ireland’s rich mythology and fantasy storytelling by combining tradition and myth in every sip,” said Nicolas Mack, founder of Mack Brands, in a news release. “FINVARA The King’s Gambit is named after a legendary king who, according to Irish folklore cared for his people, ensured good harvests and was known for his love of horses, the woods and a penchant for chess,” he added.
FINVARA The King’s Gambit is now available in New York, Connecticut, Illinois and Massachusetts at select retailers for $34.99 per 750-ml. bottle and will be rolling out across the U.S. throughout this year, according to the brand.
