Suntory Global Spirits just announced that Nick Bock has been appointed Regional general manager, US Control GBU. Bock will be based in Los Angeles and will be responsible for managing the P&L within the US control states, including leading the sales strategy and execution, distributor management and customer relationships.

“In his time with Suntory Global Spirits, Nick has established a track record of growing sales within large and complex markets and demonstrated a passion for cultivating relationships with our distributor and retailer partners,” said Dave Turo, US chief commercial officer, in a statement. “Nick’s experience provides him with the right vision and commercial acumen to manage the complexities of control states and I look forward to seeing him drive sustainable growth in the region.”

An industry veteran, Bock has been with Suntory Global Spirits for more than 15 years, according to the company. He steps into the role after serving most recently as division vice president, California and Hawaii, where he oversaw the P&L for the largest market in the US and managed the distributor relationship with Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits.

During this time, he also delivered significant growth in independent on- and off-premise channels across strategic priority brands, according to Suntory. Prior to that, he served as commercial director, West Region, and held roles of increasing responsibility across Suntory Global Spirits’ commercial and finance teams.

“I am honored to continue my journey with Suntory Global Spirits in leading the Control States,” said Bock. “After dedicating much of my career to open states, I am excited to embrace this new challenge, bringing my experience into fresh markets. I look forward to collaborating closely with our Control team and partners to expand our extraordinary portfolio across the region.”

Bock’s appointment is effective November 11. He will report to Turo and serve on the US Commercial Leadership team, according to Suntory.
