The Shankar Distillers craft spirits portfolio is growing with a new premium tequila brand, 900 Grados, available in Blanco, Reposado and Añejo varieties.
“We produced an exceptional tequila in partnership with a tequilera in Jalisco, Mexico exclusively for Shankar Distillers,” said Varchasvi Shankar, founder of Shankar Distillers, in a statement. “Tequila is the fastest growing spirit on the planet right now. It will be a nice complement to our Michigan-made craft bourbon, gin and vodka lines.”
900 Grados Tequila is available at area retailers and restaurants across Michigan, Georgia, Florida and Texas, according to Shankar Distillers. The three expressions include:
- 900 Grados Tequila Blanco: 100% Blue Weber Agave with notes of lime zest, bell pepper and jasmine. Perfect for sipping, elevated cocktails and shots.
- 900 Grados Tequila Reposado: Aged for at least four months in bourbon barrels, this tequila features notes of vanilla, papaya and coconut that finishes with toffee and subtle oak.
- 900 Grados Tequila Añejo: Aged for 14 months in bourbon barrels, this tequila features notes of cocoa, coconut, dried fruit and caramel.
