Venezuela rum producer Santa Teresa 1796 has unveiled their latest innovation: the Santa Teresa 1796 Arabica Coffee Cask Finish. This expression combines flavors of coffee with their triple-aged Solera rum.
This expression starts with Arabica coffee beans, which are coarsely ground and used in a cold brew process, the company states. Santa Teresa’s 4-year-old rum replaces the water. The cold brew mixture is then aged for six months in select American white oak barrels. After this period, the cold brew is removed, and Santa Teresa 1796 is introduced into the coffee-infused barrels for a final three-month maturation.
Santa Teresa 1796 Arabica Coffee Cask Finish comes in at 46% ABV with an MSRP of $59.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
