Liquid Alchemist—a purveyor of hand-crafted cocktail syrups—just introduced its newest flavor: Falernum.
A building block for tropical drinks, Falernum is a sweet syrup traditionally used in Caribbean and tiki-style cocktails, the company states. It features a blend of almond, ginger, lime, cloves and other spices and typically added to drinks such as the Mai Tai, Zombie and Rum Punch.
Liquid Alchemist’s Falernum Cocktail Syrup ($15.99 for 12 ounces) is crafted with cane sugar, lime, almond, ginger and a medley of baking spices, according to the company. Founder Randy Tarlow, who has closely followed market trends, including the resurgence of tiki bars and tropical cocktails, spearheaded the development of this syrup.
“We’re excited to finally launch our Falernum syrup as a response to an ongoing request from the Tiki community,” said Tarlow in a news release. “Building on our reputation as a producer of top-quality Orgeat, Coconut, and Passion Fruit syrups, Falernum—which is difficult to find in the market—is our most exotic flavor yet. We’re thankful to have become a trusted go-to brand for professional bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts alike.”
Crafted by a bar expert, Liquid Alchemist was founded in 2009. With a range of flavors including Orgeat, Prickly Pear, Passion Fruit, Grenadine and a dozen more in their full lineup, Liquid Alchemist syrups can be mixed into cocktails, the company states.
