Founded by PJ Rigney, Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin is launching a new expression: Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin with Brazilian Pineapple. The latest gin will be available starting September 1 at select retailers nationwide at $36.99 per 750-ml. bottle, the company states.

Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin with Brazilian Pineapple was inspired by PJ Rigney’s travels to Natal, Brazil during the South American country’s famous Carnival celebration, according to the company. While touring the region, Rigney was introduced to the lush and juice-filled Brazilian pineapples (known locally as the “abacaxi”) which covered the hillsides.

Upon his return to The Shed Distillery located in County Leitrim, Drumshanbo, Ireland, Rigney took inspiration from the colors and flavors of the Brazilian fruit, as well as the cacophony of sounds of toucan, macaw, tapir and howler monkeys to craft a new flavor. The Brazilian Pineapple Irish Gin is distilled with botanicals, gunpowder tea and a vapor-infusion of Brazilian pineapple, grapefruit and lime, the company states.
