Inspired by coastal ingredients, Paramour is a low-calorie aperitif collection that offers three flavors: Cara Cara Orange, Elderflower and Lavender Yuzu. The new brand’s grand debut took place at Bar Convent Brooklyn in New York in June.
Paramour Aperitifs is the brainchild of Raquel Tavares, founder of the ghee brand Fourth & Heart. The idea for Paramour sparked in the summer of 2022 on a sojourn to study French in Paris, where Raquel fell in love with the romance and mysticism surrounding aperitif culture, the brand states.
“I have a passion for ancient, classic ingredients and love studying their rich history and how they’ve stood the test of time,” said Tavares in a news release. “Spirits and the aperitif tradition have a delicious history and after spending a summer in France, I knew I wanted to recreate a new lightened-up version of the classic spritz for a broader community of imbibers seeking less sugar and additives.”
Curated with local botanicals, vegetables and fruits, each Paramour Aperitifs flavor comes in at 60 calories per serving and with a 14% ABV, the brand states. They come ready to drink and can be poured over ice or mixed into a cocktail.
