Beaujolais producer Château de La Chaize has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with fine wine importer VINTUS across the United States, effective immediately.

The heritage and beauty of the château captured the interest of the Gruy family, who acquired the estate in 2017. Since then, Boris Gruy and his family have invested $100 million in rehabilitating the vineyard, constructing a state-of-the-art winery and restoring the historic landmarks on the estate, the company states.

Aligning with VINTUS marks an important development in the next chapter for Château de La Chaize. “Working with VINTUS as a strategic ally in the United States is a significant and dynamic step forward for us, and we anticipate that this partnership will greatly enhance the distribution quality of our estate,” stated Boris Gruy, Director and Winemaker, in a news release.

“We are deeply honored that the Gruy family is entrusting us with such a unique and historically rich property in the United States,” said VINTUS CEO Michael Quinttus in the release. This distribution agreement also marks an important milestone for the New York-based importer as the first Beaujolais property it has added to its portfolio on a national scale. “We have an incredible opportunity to open many people’s eyes to the heights of Beaujolais,” Quinttus continued. “For the more experienced wine consumer, the demand for Beaujolais Crus continues to grow, and we foresee significant growth potential in the U.S. market for these artisanal, distinct, and heavily terroir-specific wines.”
