Overview:
The Vice President of Optimization is responsible for overseeing the planning, training, execution, and management of Columbia Distributing’s business optimization activities. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is responsible for managing delivery routing, warehouse sourcing and slotting, automated order replenishment programs, and the continuous improvement program. The VP of Optimization’s focus will be to identify, develop, and implement cross-functional solutions that improve operating efficiency and quality leveraging data analytics and Lean principles.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing direct report teams to improving operating efficiency and performance
Develop long-term strategic plans that enable growth by evaluating and proposing projects and programs that improve efficiency, quality, throughput, and operating capacity
Leverage data analytics to identify areas for improvement and evaluate priorities for investment
Explore applicable opportunities to introduce automation to meet business objectives
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Understanding and practice of Lean continuous improvement methods and principles
Maintain valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in business, engineering, technology, or a similar complimentary field of study
Supply chain network experience
Six Sigma experience is a plus
Lean Certification
Knowledge of Visio/eVSM
