The Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits Summer Internship Program has been recognized in the “100 Best Internship Programs” and “30 Best Internship Programs for Overall Diversity” rankings for 2022 by career engagement platform, Firsthand.
The rankings are based on a survey of more than 11,400 current and former interns from more than 100 internship programs.
Firsthand asked interns to rate their summer internship experiences in six core areas: career development, compensation and benefits, diversity, full-time employment prospects, interview process and quality of life.
As for diversity, interns were asked to rate their internship program’s DE&I efforts when it came to culture, hiring and mentoring.
Southern Glazer’s 2021 Summer Internship Program was comprised of 79 interns from 39 different universities, representing 25 unique fields of study. Almost 60% of participating interns were female, and 44 percent identified as minorities.
During their 12 weeks with Southern Glazer’s, interns spent 13 hours with Southern Glazer’s leadership, completed 800 hours of learning on the Southern Glazer’s University portal and logged 237 volunteer hours.
Upon completing their summer internships, 100% of participants said the program was a good learning experience.

This upcoming summer, Southern Glazer’s plans to have more than 100 interns participate in its program. Interns can expect to receive on-the-job experience, professional development, and attend various events with leadership and fellow interns. Opportunities to gain experience in Sales, IT, Supply Chain, and Accounting are available for the 2022 Summer Internship Program, taking place May 23 to August 5.
