SGWS ProofeCommerce Aims to Make Holiday Shopping Easier

Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has announced that its B2B ecommerce platform, Proof, is now available in 28 total U.S. markets for trade customers looking to place holiday wine and spirits orders.

During what is traditionally the biggest month of the year for wine and spirits sales, Southern Glazer’s customers can order while remaining socially distant and safe.

Customers can visit SGProof.com, click on the “Sign Up” button, and complete an online form with their license and business information. Once validated, customers receive a welcome email with additional account details and can begin working with the program.

Trends that Proof predicts this holiday season include:

  • Spirits that go down smoothly when the temperature drops include aged rum, mezcal, cognac, bourbon and whiskey.
  • Sparkling wines and Champagne aren’t just for the holidays anymore, but customers should stock up, as more bubbles are still sold during the holidays than any other time of year.
  • Hot cocktails, like mulled wine or a variety of spirited hot chocolate and coffee beverages will warm even the Grinch’s heart. Liqueurs, creams and cordials, like peppermint schnapps, hazelnut liqueur, raspberry liqueur or Irish cream are just a few of the many options that can add that holiday spirit to a cup of hot cocoa or coffee.
  • Consumers are seeing red — red wine that is — this holiday season. Wine drinkers gravitate to red varieties that pair best with the heartier foods served during winter meals.
