Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has launched a new Business-to-Customer eCommerce team, focused on sales growth and enhancing capabilities for customers’ eCommerce businesses.

The dedicated team will be responsible for providing operational excellence, programming and promotions, digital content, category insights and performance management in the eCommerce area, across channels, the company says, as well as with online retailers and beverage alcohol delivery platforms.

The team will report to David Chaplin, Chief Growth Officer for Southern Glazer’s.

“In today’s ever-changing sales landscape, Southern Glazer’s has invested in a business unit that is poised to deliver innovative solutions for the evolving eCommerce needs of our customers,” says John Wittig, Chief Commercial Officer, Southern Glazer’s. “The Business-to-Customer eCommerce team is equipped with the experience, tools and insights to provide best-in-class service and growth strategies within the fast-moving digital space. We will be satisfying our key retailer needs while providing an incremental brand building platform for our supplier partners.”

This team complements the Business-to-Business eCommerce capabilities the company has developed through its Proof platform, which gives Southern Glazer’s trade customers the opportunity of 24/7 online ordering and account management.

The Business-to-Customer eCommerce team is headed by Nathan Mansperger, Vice President, Business-to-Customer eCommerce, who joins Southern Glazer’s with more than 13 years of experience in the beverage alcohol industry. Mansperger’s most recent role was Chief Growth Officer for Provi, a beverage alcohol eCommerce solutions provider. Prior to that, he held roles of increasing responsibility with Anheuser-Busch InBev, including Director, Regional Trade Marketing, Director, eCommerce, North America, and Global Director, eRetail.

Mansperger earned a bachelor’s from Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from Western Carolina University.

Reporting to Mansperger is a team of nine industry, CPG and eCommerce experts, the company says, including both internal hires as well as external hires.

“Southern Glazer’s Ventures was created to identify and execute against new growth opportunities that position both our supplier partners and customers for success in this dynamic marketplace,” says Chaplin. “We are confident that by investing in best-in-class talent and building our capabilities in the Business-to-Customer eCommerce space, we will add great value to our supplier partners in a ‘must win’ channel, while providing customers with a suite of services that is unmatched in our industry.”
