Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has matched Constellation Brands’ $100,000 donation to support charities focusing on wildfire relief funds. SGWS has donated $50,000 each to the Napa Valley Community Foundation and Sonoma County Resilience Fund, organizations providing disaster assistance to residents impacted by the California wildfires.
The devastating fires have swept across several states in the western U.S., most recently threatening residents and businesses in Napa and Sonoma counties.
“The entire team at Southern Glazer’s extends its thoughts and prayers to all those impacted, as well as its appreciation to the heroic emergency responders who have been working tirelessly on the frontlines,” says Wayne E. Chaplin, Chief Executive Officer, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits. “The Napa Valley Community Foundation and Sonoma County Resilience Fund have helped so many people recover from the unprecedented hardship these communities have experienced during the past few years, and we hope that this funding from the wine and spirits industry will help them continue their important missions.”
Southern Glazer’s employees living in the impacted areas are safe and accounted for, the company says, and the company is providing support for those who have been either displaced or experienced other losses as a result of the fires.
“We are grateful that our friends at Southern Glazer’s have generously matched our donation to California wildfire victims during this critical time,” says Robert Hanson, EVP-President, Wine & Spirits at Constellation Brands. “I’m confident our employees and neighbors, particularly in Napa and Sonoma, will re-emerge stronger as a result of our combined efforts. Our commitment to support the recovery of our beloved communities remains strong, and we are touched by the contribution of our valued partners in this effort.”
