Emeritus Vineyards has expanded its distribution partnership with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits to include California.

Emeritus has partnered with both Southern Wine & Spirits and Glazer’s Inc. since 2007, when the winery first debuted. Prior to announcing this new expanded partnership, Southern Glazer’s represented Emeritus in 12 states, including such markets as Texas, Florida and New York.

“My family’s relationships with both the Chaplin and Glazer families go back decades to when my father, Brice, was the owner of Sonoma-Cutrer, and it has continued at Emeritus,” says second-generation President Mari Jones. “Southern Glazer’s has been an invaluable and trusted partner to Emeritus, and has achieved exceptional results for us in key markets like Texas and Florida. They are a dynamic company, with a commitment to excellence, education and customer service that echoes our own values at Emeritus.”

“Just as important, they are a company whose strengths are uniquely suited to helping us bring our pinot noirs to new customers and new regions, while helping us navigate the unique demands of today’s marketplace,” Jones adds.

Emeritus Vineyards was founded by vintner Brice Cutrer Jones in 1999 with the goal of creating a grand cru-caliber estate in the New World. Jones and Vineyard Manager Kirk Lokka planted two estate vineyards: Hallberg Ranch in the Russian River Valley, and Pinot Hill in the Sebastopol Hills — totaling 150 acres of dry-farmed vines.

Today, Emeritus is guided by Mari Jones, Lokka and Winemaker Dave Lattin, and the winery is exclusively dedicated to making estate-grown pinot noir.
