Amber Beverage Group Names New Non-executive Director

Amber Beverage Group — a spirits producer, distributor, logistics provider and retailer of beverages — has announced the appointment of Roland van Bommel as the company’s new non-executive director.

He will join a team currently led by the ABG Supervisory Board’s Chairman Mark Garber. 

Van Bommel is currently a non-executive director of Asahi Beverages Oceania, part of the Tokyo-based Asahi Group Holdings Ltd. In the past he held the position of Chairman of the Board of Managers of WhistlePig, Chief Executive Officer for William Grant & Sons Ltd and Chief Executive of Maxxium Worldwide.

Van Bommel has pursued a governance career since 2010, and has experience as a Director and as a Senior Executive with large world-wide corporations. 

“Roland’s experience as CEO of Maxxium and William Grant & Sons is of great value to us,” says Garber. “He has successfully created route to markets and developed brands like Sailor Jerry and Hendrick’s. Roland was invaluable to WhistlePig as the company worked to build a super-premium whiskey business over the last decade.”
