In a sign of better days ahead, Vinexpo New York has announced 2021 dates, and a return to the Jacob K. Javits Center.
Vinexpo New York 2020, in early March, was among the final mass events held in Manhattan and the Javits Center before COVID-19 took hold of the city. Within weeks, the iconic Javits Center had transformed into a temporary hospital, helping care for the ballooning number of coronavirus patients.
In 2021, Vinexpo New York will take place Feb. 3-4. The move is a “vote of confidence in the resilience of the wine and spirits industry,” the event’s organizers say, and will make the 2021 event “the first opportunity for the global market to gather as a community in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Jointly organized with Diversified Communications, Vinexpo New York is a leading international exhibition in North America open to the wine and spirits trade. It includes two full days of educational programming and networking opportunities, with an exhibition hall meant to foster business relationships between both domestic and international producers and American importers, distributors, retailers, brokers, e-commerce representatives, on-trade buyers and sommeliers.
Attendee and trade registration will open online in mid-September.
The 2021 show will contain all of the same offerings of the 2020 show. These include a schedule of conferences and master classes; a Key Buyer Program offering VIP perks to high-volume wine and spirits buyers; a complimentary business matchmaking service; The Buzz, a dedicated space for knowledge exchange, networking and group discussion; and the WOW! Pavilion showcasing organic wines. US-based importers will also exhibit their portfolio of brands.
Additional program details will be announced as they develop.
