Two warehouses at Jim Beam in Kentucky caught fire late last night, likely destroying around 45,000 aging barrels of whiskey.
Local news stations report that the blaze began around 11:30 p.m. at one warehouse, and then spread to an adjacent building. Lightning is a possible cause of the conflagration, according to officials.
No injuries have been reported.
Firefighters have put out the flames at one warehouse while the other remains burning.
This catastrophe comes nearly a year after the collapse of a barrel warehouse at Barton 1792 Distillery.
