WhistlePig Releases FarmStock Rye Series 003

Premium rye producer WhistlePig has introduced FarmStock Rye Crop 003, the third limited-edition expression from its Triple Terroir whiskey line, completing the trilogy of products.

The term Triple Terroir refers to elements in the whiskey — wood, spirit, water — coming from WhistlePig’s 500-acre farm distillery in Shoreham, Vermont.

FarmStock Rye Crop 003 is 100% rye, comprised of 52% of WhistlePig’s 3-year-old rye whiskey, blended with 31% 6-year-aged whiskey and 17% 10-year-aged whiskey from Alberta, Canada. It aged in custom Vermont White Oak barrels crafted from locally and sustainably sourced trees, the company says.

On the nose, Farmstock Rye Crop 003 is sweet, with vanilla, maraschino, roasted chestnuts and hints of cigar box, the company reports. The palate includes oak, toffee and baking spices, followed by soft notes of crème brûlée and rose petals.

Bottled at 86 proof, FarmStock Rye Crop 003 is 43% ABV, with a suggested retail price of $72.99 per 750-ml. bottle. Like other FarmStock Rye editions before, 003 will be sold nationwide, and will be available for purchase via Caskers.com on July 1st. Additionally, Caskers.com will debut a limited-edition tri-pack, featuring all three FarmStock Rye editions.
