Southern Glazer’s Publishes 2018 Philanthropy and Volunteering Update

Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has published its second annual Philanthropy and Volunteering Update, highlighting corporate and employee giving, as well as volunteer outreach activity for full-year 2018.

The update encapsulates the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility initiatives across various areas, the company says, which include: promoting responsible consumption, supporting education, enhancing diversity and inclusion, supporting our supplier causes, and empowering local giving and volunteering with charities throughout local markets.

“Southern Glazer’s is a Company that has and always will be devoted to giving back to the local communities in which it serves, and each year, our team pushes further to make a larger impact — from the growing number of volunteer activities, to the financial contributions made to those who need it the most,” says Wayne Chaplin, CEO, Southern Glazer’s. “This includes our employees, leaders, supplier and customer partners, who work together year-round to ensure we’re all doing our part and more — it truly is a team effort that’s made possible with everyone’s support.”

This year’s report provides an update on the growth of VolunCheers Online — the enterprise-wide employee volunteering and giving portal launched in the summer of 2018 — which allows employees across the U.S. and Canada to connect with each other online and mobilize for volunteering and fundraising activities.

“Every year, Southern Glazer’s and its employees commit time, resources, and funds to countless charities in all the markets where the Company operates,” says Sheldon Stein, president, Southern Glazer’s. “The Philanthropy and Volunteering Update is a great way of capturing it all in one place, while also serving as a helpful guide in directing our efforts for 2019.”
